I'm Giulio Banterla, a Software Development Manager and Software Architect with over 25 years of experience in enterprise software development.
Today I lead a development team of around 40 people at Creactives, in the AI-for-procurement space. Before that I spent years at Archiva, in digital preservation, first as a Software Architect and then as a Software Development Manager — after a long stretch as a senior developer and technical trainer across Java and .NET technologies.
My technical background ranges across the Java and .NET ecosystems, web architectures, databases and search engines. I'm based in the Verona area, Italy.
This site is the notebook where I document my personal projects — home automation, small services and experiments — with a few notes on what I built and why.
Role-playing & tabletop games
Outside of work I'm a keen role-playing and board-game enthusiast: I love the storytelling and collaborative side, the strategy, and gathering around a table with friends. I often take on the Game Master role, building stories and worlds to explore together.
